I am sooooo glad you asked?



I'm working drafts of a new logo for KOIT "Lite Rock, Less Talk" - but it's all in early development. But we're looking for something "new" and "fresh"....It's fun to take all I learned about designing the KDFC logo to this new project.

For KDFC: We had to present a sketch board of ideas for spring/summer 2008 for Entercom management. So I created icons and presentations around each concept. Super fun!

"What's on your iPod?"
What was on Abraham Lincoln's iPod? Napoleons?
We're going to run a week of historical celebrity iPod playlists



"Classical Idol"

A idol contest for youth (0 to 16 year olds) - and adults (16-death) - with YouTubevideo style submissions, online voting - then six finalists in each category in a live concert.



"The World Tour"
Songs and composers from around the world as well as ticket giveaways to great destinations from a major air carrier.



I also recently relaunched my home design business - I have four - omg - four freelance contracts that have all appeared out of nowhere! Yay! So I needed to get my business relaunched...

Introducing - Duboce Park Design Studio.

I'm really happy with the bright colourful design - and I think this is way more "me" than the design I used when I first moved to SF. This is a great move for me. I have two big clients that are literally "cutting the check" - so then I'll announce those projects when I can. It's so exciting to suddenly have my freelance biz bloom a little.

argh what's with the typography in the "idol" ad?

its the closest I could get to the American Idol logo without spending $30 on the font they use.



if we go forward with the project - I'd ask to purchase the actual font they use for American Idol

it's a joined font so the letters with ligatures are supposed to ... um .. join.

the Airstream Font I used - doesn't work that way. I'd have to purchase the official Kaufmann Bd BT font to make it look just like American Idol. But since today's test was simply a sketch for a proposed idea - I couldn't justify purchasing the font.

Naw all you have to do is tighten up the letter spacing about 5%-10%. That will at least eliminate the worst of it like between the a and the s, and the o and l.

Yeah, but you could raster the text and manually connect it with a brush.

I could - absolutely - but... this is just a sketch - the project has no time resources attached to it yet. The final logo would be perfect - - using the official font.
