So - my friend Mark - whom I dined with last night - commented on my "70's hairstyle". Now - I'm not talking out of turn - it was a teasing comment. but. I thought I'd do a poll.

this is NOT comment whoring - it's research. Yes. research, thats what it is for sure!

What do you think of the long hair and the beard?

I tried to create a Ljpoll - but I got frustrated and said BAH! it's a simple question!

love the beard. the hair...is a little...umm...retro-inspired. mainly the little curvy swoop in the front. :-)

"Retro-inspired..." yup, maybe.

But I couldn't offer anything; I am in the phase of letting my lovely and talented stylist do whatever he can with whatever hairs I have left...

Is that a good thing or a bad thing?

its actually neither. just several of the photos the way he is smiling he looks like our father. it happens with genetics.

I know how that is. I see some pictures of myself sometimes and think that's what my dad would look like if he grew a moustache.

MEOW!

Is that any way to talk to your twin? (grin)

I suppose you could say:

You've turned into Mom!

it was not meant as a jab. There are just several photos in the set that remind me of Dad (not all them mind you)

Grin!

I caught that! When I wear just a mustache, which is about two minutes before I shave it off, I look just like my Dad...

Not at any other time, just then, so I get the idea!

I'm holding out for your cooking show where Geritol is the featured ingredient. Or perhaps some Kona-flavored Geritol? ;)

Well the nice thing about hair is you can always change it, and if you don't like it, change it back. (Unlike a tattoo.)

Personally I'd like the beard trimmed just a wee bit shorter, but it's nice like this too.

As for the hair -- I will always be grateful to my hipster straight barber who told me my hair was out of style and offered a new look. Why not find a stylist you like and let him suggest something new to try?

I did the same thing here (re the barber) in PS. As a result the hair is shorter - especially on the sides, the 'burns are a little longer and there's not so much 'grooming/parting' going on.

Robert - B. has good advice here; at least, it worked well for me too. :)

In fact - probably more like the "black t-shirt" photo in your montage here.

right - that's exactly what I did - I told the sylist I didn't want to lose the thickness of the hair - but that it was feeling too long - and I trimmed to beard to a even shorter length.

the bushy look was too much work... and the trimmed beard shows off my jawline a lot better.

Your hair looks just fine. Retro? Maybe, but at least you have the full head of hair to pull it off. The beard looks good, too!
