I have had the best vacation with Ron and Mark. You could too! They have a gorgeously decorated vacation rental in the "next door" of their home. Their prices are only $90 per night - how could you beat that - its a full apartment with kitchen and hottub. click here to see their online listing

I cannot recommend their vacation rental more - - and - - Not only are they historians, great cooks (I learned gumbo secrets!) - - they truly are some of the best friends a man could have. If you are on Bear411 - they are "spstache" (Ron) and "dosbeards" (Mark). They are just wonderful guys - and I'm so glad they are in my life.

I left the camera at home yesterday for the most part - and just luxuriated in their company.

but a couple of neighborhood dogs caught my eye....

a lovely lady who had that - "how are you neighbor?" attitude - she is adorable.

the most silent schnauzer I've ever seen - he just watched people go by. never barking.

oh - and last night at the bar - I met the vivacious and engaging [livejournal.com profile] dreamm_ryter! It was a great time!

now for a quiet day - helping Ron get his website working a little better. Drinking coffee - and getting ready to travel home. I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE MISS KATE! :) I love my little girl!

ta.

Robert - I just finished looking through the photo set from the cemetery in Metarie.

Wow. The faces are so "human" ... I can't think of closer description. In all my visits to N.O. I've never been through a cemetery; it's obviously a moving experience.

Thanks also for the link to your hosts' rental. It's a great deal!

Have a safe trip home and give Miss Kate a hug for me.

Yay! I keep forgetting you're good friends with Ron and Mark. I've yet to meet them in person, but they've always been super nice in our online chats. One day, I'll get over my general dislike of NOLA, and visit again.

Good people, good times!

You don't like New Orleans? :-(

No, not really. I've been there too many times, and I just don't feel the love.

It looks wonderful and from your posts, I can tell it was marvelous! If I ever get the chance to go to New Orleans, I will certainly have to look to see if this charming place is available to stay in. Especially since they are straight friendly...hope they're bi friendly as well. Glad you had such a wonderful time!
