Bob's Kitchen - Episode #16!
Feb. 21st, 2008 08:10 amYay - my first Bob's Kitchen episode of 2008! Here's the scoop. I got my groceries delivered yesterday - and instead of "fruit cups" of fresh mango - I got four GIANT ASSED 1/2 pound bowls of fresh cut mango. I froze some, I am going to make Mango Salsa for next weekend's party, and I'm going to make some mango sorbet. But - in talks with my boss yesterday (who is also a SERIOUS foody) we talked about how nice Mango would pair with say - beef. I always enjoy "Spicy Mango with Beef" at my local Thai Restaurant - so the wheels they started turning. and VOILA - I overnighted a pot roast with fresh mango, red bell peppers, mushrooms and onion in an organic vegetable stock. It turned out spectacularly. It'll make for some nice meals!
For those of you who are new to my journal (there are a few lately) I do a YouTube based cooking show called "Bob's Kitchen".
Now - when I did my last episode (vodka tomato pasta - October 20th) my Mom (HI MOM! *waves*) mentioned that she thought I was too serious. So I tried to inject a sense of humor in this episode.
So here it is, Bob's Kitchen Episode 16:

Date: 2008-02-21 04:50 pm (UTC)I'm stil getting my head around the mango part of this recipe; the rest of it sounds yummy. What variation in taste/texture does mango bring after being slow-cooked overnight?
