I got a royalties/sales report today on House of Wolves and on March 1 - including the e-books (PDF) versions - it has now officially sold 1004 copies. It sold hard and heavy over the summer and fall (a few book stores stocking with 100-200 copies over 9 months (from April to Christmas time)) - and is slowing down considerably now - 30 copies or so a month. (mostly hardback curiously enough) I am so thrilled at the reception of the novel - particularly since I'm doing my own marketing. But being in the Spring and Fall Gay and Lesbian Quarterly was a HUGE deal - (the metrics reports of where/how folks are purchasing are very interesting) and I will continue advertising there as part of the IUniverse cluster.

What a coincidence to see your book here. I just had it under my arm at my doctor's appointment. The med tech asked about it and read the back cover. He looked like a gay bear but later volunteered he had a wife and child. (Whatever.) Hey maybe he'll buy a copy.

I'm sure you'll sell more toward the holidays. I know people I need to buy it for.

I looked for your book at the "family" bookstore in Hillcrest last weekend. They didn't stock it, but did offer to special order it for me. :(

thats the biggest issue - is that the publisher doesn't do distribution. I have to do it on my own. (sigh) It's available online at the link above.

A fine book by an even "finer" man. You'll recall I lost my hardcover on retreat and had to get the paperback expressed to me so I could finish the book. Worth it!

Congratulations!

I will eventually finish re-editing my book, but I'm pretty sure no publisher would touch it.

I can almost hear the CEO: "Bikers with long hair that are Gay? Are you kidding?"

thats where iUniverse comes in. They'll publish it - because it's print on demand. I worked with traditional publishers for three years - and came real close to publishing then would get dropped when this person left their firm or this rule changed. Check iUniverse out - despite the fact that they don't do distribution? they've been very good to me.
