I picked up my new art from Jon Gatto today. I'm so very pleased. He framed three of the pieces in handmade iron clip frames - giving them a very modern, clean look - and framed "come in the water's fine" in a traditional black wood frame. I could not be happier. Click here for close ups of the artwork. There is nothing more satisfying than having art made by my friends up in my home. I'm truly delighted!

Inspired by nature, Algue, French for "algae," are individual plastic elements that can be joined to create personalized interior design elements, from screens to room dividers. Twenty-five segments are required to create 10 square feet of light net mesh.
Here is a shot of the original installation at the NY MoMa.
I saw this and fell in love. and then - like they read my mind - they started selling Aglue at the MOMA here in SF. and I buy a box every few months and add to my scuplture. It used to stretch across the wall in my living room (see below) but I like it a lot better in the current config. Here in the corner with the paintings - it has real depth - and a much more organic feel. I want to add a layer of black behind it all to make the white, red and green pop more. and they also now sell it in "clear" - which would be a cool affect also.
I'd think it might make an interesting stage design material.
