The incredible exhibitionist yet-candy-centered [livejournal.com profile] bukephalus asked:
"Bwa-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha! AT LAST!

Okay, here's my request. Since you're such a spiffy designer, I want my answer in the form of an inspirational poster...And my question is: How do you do it? I mean, cancer, HIV, shitty boyfriends, an outrageously expensive city, and on and on -- how the fuck do you pull yourself together every day and make it work?

Cuz you do it so damn well."

Answer: one small step at a time, take this morning for example:

Granted - the things he asked about - have happened to me over the last couple of decades. and honestly - most of them - if not all of them - have been incredible learning lessons. From the money jungle that is SF to the Rickisodetm to cancer to HIV. You simple tackle it all one step at a time.

heh heh heh

I know, I know! The difference between 7.15am and 8.15am is that you put on clothes and accessorized up with Miss Kate?

I know that I'm OCD about afew things, but doesn't it bother you that between 7.15 and 7.45 the pictures in your bathroom were crooked!? I'm only assuming that they were crooked before 7.15... and perhaps even after 7.45.

ARGH. ;)

But OTHERwise... *very* cool post! :)

You know what? You are just too cool. Seriously. Even over LJ you manage to give off a totally centered and focused vibe. It's a good thing.

well - the short answer is that it's the same tattoo as David in my novel, House of Wolves. (barnes and noble page here (http://search.barnesandnoble.com/House-of-Wolves/Robert-B-McDiarmid/e/9780595426003/?itm=1)).

But the long answer (well not too long) is that the tattoo,

Image

is the glyph for the "Sgaana xaaydagaay" the Haida Seawolf, the spiritual ancestor of the killer whale. He is the brother of Thunderbird - the sky and earth diety of the Haida/Tlingit nation. (Northwestern Washington to the lower islands of Alaska) He was the creator of the sea and the protector of it's resources. He adopted a tribe of indians, the "xaaydagaay" and transformed them into the killer whale.

For me personally - it's a totem to the tranformation my life has made in the last four years. It's a very personal statement - and is currently unfinished. :) Much like me!

here is a pic of the full design printed out and "fitted to me" back in September:

Here's a question for Question Month:

Are you planning on getting your chest tattoo filled in? It's rather a nice one, and I know you found the initial experience to be rather more daunting than you'd bargained for. But all that aside, will you be filling it in, and when?

well that answer is two fold

1 - tattooing is expensive and I don't have a whole lot of spare cash lying around right now inzebudget

2 - yes i want to get it filled in - but I am also sorta digging that it's not "finished" - the dorsal fin is only 1/4 complete - (see other comment with Jim in NY)

i am suspecting I may get it finished and filled in - in time for my 41st birthday.

well - its not always 'that' easy, Bud. When my ex Jon and I brokeup in Idaho - the transformation to a more orderly life began - it was majorly disrupted by the Rickisodetm and I'm just getting back to a normal rythum.

I'm beginning to suspect that the first thing Jesus did upon arising Easter Morning was to get a cuppa coffee. Only then, could He great Mary with anything approaching civility. It may also go a ways towards explaining why she didn't recognize Him at first.

In Nazareth, we are used to drinking from animal skins. But if you need an enema darling, just make your supplication, and your Lord will see what He can do.

I'd say you need an enema.....

i'd say after being nailed (and not the fun kind) to a cross - decaying in a cave for three days - only to resurrect? Nothing like dying and coming back to give you that not-so-fresh feeling.

No arguement from me (Though I must confess the Sin of Envy that your relationship with Christ is so obviously deeper and more personal than mine. Apparently, Jesus loves you more). =oP

Are there any other details of our Lord's life you'd care to share?

Love the morning pics. I wouldn't dare try that!

Last year I bought a book on Tribal Art from Native American Tribes of the Pacific Northwest, while on vacation near the snake river. The idea was to find another good tattoo. I think you found what I had been looking for. I just now tried to find the book and I gave up. Great Tattoo!
