french food - hold the attitude
Mar. 29th, 2008 08:05 amLast evening Michael
sfleatherbear and Michael
bibliocub joined David and I for dinner. We went to Zazie (zazie linkage) for a lovely evening of french food! Now - the thing that is incredible (imho) about Zazie - is that it's (for SF) reasonably priced so you can afford to go whole hog (wine, appetizer, dinner, dessert) and it's a homestyle casual atmosphere without the normal white table cloth french 'tude that is often associated with really good french food. The Good Michael
bibliocub had the rabbit, Just Michael had the pork chop "like a good jewish boy should" he said, David had the fish stew and I had the most remarkable trout. We were so stuffed nobody finished dessert. But - their bread pudding? OMGIWIN! (ohmygodIwantitnow)
It was my first time meeting The Good Michaeltm and it's obvious what Just Michaeltm sees in him - he's adorable, smart and laughs so incredibly easily. He's in the engineering library at Berkeley for a living - so he's got zebrains too. (mmmmmmm brains)
David was his usual inescapably adorable self - testing everyone's food ("I'm ready to try the Rabbit now!") and feigning no interest in dessert - but then using his spoon to "quality control" sample each of the desserts ordered. (breadpudding, chocolate pudding/creme brulee, and strawberryrhubarb crumble).
The Michaels gave us a lift home - and David and I took Miss Kate for a nice evening walk. We got back to the apartment and were, um. well. making out in front of the steps of the apartments and my downstairs neighbors came home from dinner and "a few drinks" - and loudly said "oh my god take it inside!" which made David blush like a thermometer. (tee-hee) then we came in and settled in for the night - and we sat on the couch piled up with Miss Kate. I played him Arvo Part's TeDeum on the MuffinPod.
Miss Kate got me up at 7am - and she and I were off to the park with a cup of coffee. David is still asleep in bed... (that boy loves his sleep!) We're off and running on a fun filled weekend!
