thoreauThe naming meme-thingee copied from a gazillion others... since nuttin much else is goin on right now...
1. My username is _____ because ____
My username is Lowfatmuffin. When Cameron and Scott convinced me to LJ back in 2004 - I was living with my ex Jon in Boise...and the inklings of "wow - we need to take control of our health and weight" were creeping in. and like all baby steps - I'd picked up my coffee and danish for breakfast - and there it was on the label suchnsuch's 'low fat muffin'. and voila. I've enjoyed how it took on a name of it's own. There are people here on LJ that call me Muffin or Muffin Man - or the latest - that muffin-mo-fo..... Never knowing that Robert is my real name. I've been introduced at bars as "muffin" - try looking or appearing even remotely butch after that.
that said? I've never really cared if people considered me butch frankly. I'm liable to burst into Ethel Merman in a leather bar - or tell a guy to shut his fucking mouth at a twink bar. I don't do well having to fit in any sort of mould. :) (phhbbbbbt!)

My name is Robert Burton McDiarmid. Burton McDiarmid was my father's adopted father. He was an Army officer who died when my Dad was 11 years old. Even in his 80s - my dad treated the man like a hero. He married my grandmother and took my father in as his own - after the original marriage to Forrest Weathers (my genetic grandfather) ended in divorce in 1928. My father was named Francis Forrest Weathers. and had always been called Forrest - but when Weathers left - his mother had his middle name legally removed. and what kid wants to go by "Francis" - so my Dad started going by Bob. and when I was born - my mother thought he'd like me to have that name. (Dad was at sea when Drew and I were born)
3. My journal is titled ____ because ____.
My journal is titled “A Boy and His Dog: The Continuing Adventures of Robert and Kateydog" as you can see from this photo taken just now...
Miss Kate is glued to me and me to her. She's my constant loving companion. this morning she's been like velcro - like she can tell I'm heading to Seattle tomorrow. When I customized my journal at Christmas time - I made sure that pictures of the goddess ended up in the new header design. She is the bestest.
4. My friends page is called ____ because ____.
My friends page is called "OoompaLoompaDoopityDo - I've Got Another Livejournaler for You". It makes me giggle thats why. (giggle) Subscribing to someone’s journal does not necessarily make you friends. But, it’s often a good start.
5. My default userpic is ____ because ____
My default pic as of last night is the eyeroll pic from the Friday by the Tens post. Again - just because the way the crop came out - it makes me laugh.
