  1. I weighed in today at 175 pounds - and I've stayed within 6 pounds of that weight - my 2007 weight watchers goal wieght - for a year. I'm very proud of that! Except for my Fried Food Tour of Louisiana in February - I've been very true to my diet and my new skills in the kitchen.

  2. I have started character sketches and blocking for the new novel. Based on a verse of Rumi prose - the book is going to start with a sexier but earthier tone than House of Wolves.

  3. I'd still like to accomplish a polish-edit of House of Wolves to get rid of the glaring time line issue that somehow made it into the final manuscript - and fix the poor typesetting of the first printing

  4. I have taken control of my retirement planning and my pocketbook. I'll soon be ready to tackle paying down some debt faster (e.g. owning my car sooner).

  5. I'm working on approaching getting to know David differently than I approached other relationships in the last few years. Less "what is our future" together and what is "our now" together.

  6. Continuing my Real Jock workouts - and working on being patient at the gym. I don't want to push too hard and end up hurting myself. I'm very pleased with how the muscle sorta creeps up on you. but I wish my legs caught up with my upper body.

  7. I've been making some real synergistic friendships lately - and I'm very excited about that.

  8. Trying to explain why all my leathers have yellow piping to David - was very interesting. and we haven't had a face-to-face follow up about it yet.

  9. I am finally to that place where not having contact with Rick is okay. and isn't something I think about 24/7. We've traded three or four emails in the last 6 months. Basic stuff. But other than that - totally washin' that man right out of my hair... I have stopped referring to him as an ex - but rather a man I dated briefly when moving to San Francisco.

Playing the 'thoreau mental path' game on that one - "As a single footstep will not make a path on the earth, so a single thought will not make a pathway in the mind. To make a deep physical path, we walk again and again. To make a deep mental path, we must think over and over the kind of thoughts we wish to dominate our lives."

    - and I'll reap a huge benefit from that in the long run.

  10. Am working with Tom - my buddy who is a playwright - on a multimedia one-act for the Queer Arts Festival in June.

  11. The book project with the coffee shop - fell through. The coffee shop owner wanted to make a profit - and I wanted the money to go to charity. He was inflexible - I have other projects I can work on. Sad - but not a fight I want to get into.

  12. Professionally - at the radio stations - I have never felt more in my stride. David Field - the CEO of Entercom - was here in SF today making presentations. and called me out by name at a lunch of industry luminaries and advertising clients - as the kind of digital manager radio needs. It was overwhelmingly huge to get called out like that.

  13. I'm happy - and that makes all of these above bullet points... all the better.

A lot to be proud of... especially the weight management and fitness. You are an inspiration!

And I've got something for you and your yellow piping, Mr. Man.

Are they still "bullet points" when you have them numbered, instead of using... "bullets"?

no - it is a numbered list. :)

i could have done it in bullet points - that wouldn't appear to give any of them overt emphasis over the others... it was all esoteric psychobabble pouring out of my brain. (giggle)

It's like any other choice in the world - not everything is for everyone. and it's also not my primary means of physical communication either. Everything in moderation - eh?

Congratulations, I'm so pleased with all your wonderful progress along your spiritual journey to self-happiness. I'm happy for you, too!

all these little things had been chugging along and I figured it was time to call them out. I felt a little nervous posting this - as it is a potpourri and there are things in here that aren't "quite there yet" and things that are there. If that makes any sense. (giggle) the thing is that the spiritual journey towards peace and self-love - doesn't have an ending point. I'd just forgotten how to keep myself on the path and I think I'm FINALLY refinding it in a solid recognizable way.

I concur, I'm discovering the same things. The whole point is to stay on the path of self-discovery and truth and be gentle with ourselves when we stray from the path and know that it's all part of it and to be ever grateful for it all, both what appears to be bad and good.

I've been very grateful that I've gotten to share in your journey and you in mine.

May your path be long, winding, and filled with beauty, light, and interesting people.

You can have it all, if you're prepared to look for it, and work for it. You can, and you are.

I somehow missed this entry and it is truly wonderful. I love your slice-of-life entries. It is wonderful how you are approaching this thing you have going with David. SO much smarter! Good job! Proud of you! And I want want want to know how David is reacting to the yellow piping.
