Dining Out For Life

Last night I served as the restaurant host at Sauce for the annual Dining out For Life - which locally benefits STOP AIDS PROJECT. Sauce is an incredible restaurant - and folks went away very full and the cocktails were a'flowin. :) It was nice to see Michael out with friends, (xlgmeat), hadn't seen him in FOREVER. I had been blaring the news to local friends - and by 8pm - I knew half the folks in the restaurant. There were so many incredibly generous people. Even without knowing what is in the sealed envelopes - I know I cleared easily $4000 for charity. About 9pm - my posse showed up (The Good Michael (bibliocub, The Michael that Needs New Employment (sfleatherbear) and my neighbors SFPUC Michael and Drag Diva Michael, and Jeffery the lovely handsome neighbor (retired101), and of course, Mr. Goldberg. (swoon) We had serious appetizers (wontons and mushroom fries) and then feasted on porkchops, bacon wrapped meatloaf (what is the plural of meatloafs since MTNNE and I had the same dish? Meatloafi? meatloafs?), incredible ahi, vegetable streudel and the most decadent of mac and cheeses EVER. We were the last table to finish up - and David and I crawled into bed about 1130. (and I made it to the gym this morning! YAY!)

So - i'm off to the salt mine. TGIF!

This weekend has in store - Art Walks, Stair Walks of San Francisco, Cooking, Sweeney Todd and more time with David. (now starring in a blog header near you)

Thanks for the invite. We had a really good time and enjoyed meeting the rest of the crew (even if we didn't actually get to eat until 10:30 pm....ehem).
