About 4am I woke up sweating and shaking from a nightmare. Part of the problem with having a creative/active mind - is thatit works in really intense ways sometimes.

Ugh! I was driving the Mini down a stretch of freeway and i turned a corner and a wall of water was coming down the highway towards me. I tried to pull up on the bank on the side of the freeway - but the current turned the car sideways and I was swept away. The dream literally lasted long enough for me to realize I was drowning. I can remember hearing the metal in the car bend and tear as the car got pushed up against and then tumbled with heavy debris underwater.

I used to be prone to nightmares like this a lot before I learned to meditate and channel some of that energy off before bed at night. but omg - this terror in my subconscious seemed so real. It took me a good 20 minutes to stop replaying it - and calm down when I woke up.

At least - on the brightside - I'm up in time for the gym. lol!

Why not put a positive spin on it and turn it into a short?

how do you put a positive spin on dreaming about drowning in your car during a movie script catrastrophic flood?

Turn it into creative positive spin by incorporating it into a suspense short story. The person does not have to drown, there are always ways to 'discover' an escape route. But the circumstances leading up to this and following it might be quite gripping. I remember when I first read the manuscript for House of Wolves the underlying, I'll call it tension, made it very difficult for me to put the thing down. As a result, I read the whole thing in less than 24 hours, quite a feat for a non-reader. Why not a gay murder mystery where the fellow in the car was either a detective or got too close to the truth? Or just a murder mystery to prove that you are not locked into just gay themed literature. (although, we need more mainstream novels with gay characters) Just my two cents. If I could write, I would think about it.

Reminds me of the one I had last night. In that one, some weird human monster thing that looked like Christ Tucker in a pale yellow suit was shooting grey goo from his fingertips and everybody around me started to liquify in horrific ways, but yet in bright, vibrant colors. The greens and yellows were particularly vivid.

Wow! After reading that, I guess I'm kinda glad of my own lack of imagination and creativity.

My worst nightmares are when I dream about the real terrors in my life. Which have been greatly reduced since he moved out.

Glad to hear you are truly fine. Those dreams are intense, though. And they stay with you for a long time.
