COFFEE! :) I am delighted to report that the gourmet coffee at Blue Bottle Coffee Company lives up to its name. David is not a morning person - so this morning at 7am I took Miss Kate out for a nice walk through Hayes Valley which started with a stop at Blue Bottle. Described as a "artisan micro roast" they individually drip each cup of coffee. It was dark, rich and delicious. and only $2. Natch!

After a nice hike around the neighborhood - Miss Kate and I discovered the unofficial dog social area between the Herbst Theater and the Opera. Here at 730am on a Sunday - were about a dozen people and their dogs. They were VERY clear to explain - "if even on person doesn't pick up their dog's poop - they'll chain this off and we'll lose this space." - so - as with Opera - there are rules at the unofficial Opera Dog Park. LOL! We walked back past City Hall - and got home to find David reading in bed with the blinds wide open to the sunny amazing view. (i love this apartment SO much!) David got dressed and we headed to Stacks on Octavia for breakfast.

I was dubious because it is a chain - but I was quickly dissuaded. Here's the deal - I never get enough liquids when I eat. I can do several glasses of water and coffee with breakfast. I ordered grapefruit juice and coffee. and she brought me a GINORMOUS grapefruit juice and my own freshly brewed pot of coffee for the table. WIN! then David had the test of any restaurant in his opinion - - the breakfast yogurt parfait (which was amazing!) and I had the "breakfast sandwich" which was basically tomato, avocado, bacon and scrambled eggs served open face over english muffins. Both dishes were served fast, were well prepared. We'd give it a definite recommendation. We got there by 9am - by the time we left - there was a 30-45 minute wait - so early is also a keyword here.

I am having so much fun looking up new restaurants and new things to do in the new neighborhood and the great thing is that my old neighborhood is only a Muni stop away - and the Castro in two stops. Major Happiness!

We're off shortly to meet the Michaels and KiltybearPaul for Indiana Jones. I'm glad we ate a nice breakfast - it'll keep me from my nemesis.... hot buttered and then buttered and salted popcorn. (at least this time I win!)

ttyl.

I go to the Stacks in Redwood City every once in a while, it's great. I had heard that it was owned by a gay guy but who knows.
