bubblegum troubles....

The adorable goddess that is Miss Kate has an addiction. Used - often bright blue or pink - bubblegum off the sidewalk. She's lightning fast (as anyone that has walked her with me can attest to...) and tonight she got a fresh gob of bright blue. and because it was fresh instead of the stepped truly vile usual version - it took on a whole new level of yuck as the poor dear essentially got the side of her face cemented to the sidewalk when the fresh powder blue bubble gum stuck to both the hair on her face AND the sidewalk and would not let go of both. I'm afraid I didn't help much because once I figured out what was going on - I was giggling so bad. (she was so not amused) so - once we got home I had to snip some facial fur away with beard scissors because she had sticky blue shrapnel stuck in her face hair. Poor thing. She looked up at me as if to say "but it looked so delicious! I just had to have it." - I'm sure she'll be back to chewing up disgusting little wads of used gum in no time at all... but in the back of her mind she'll remember when bubblegum attacked her. She'll be a little more careful next time. She's exhausted sleeping in her bed and I'm off to have dinner with Dave and Rich - the two muscle-bear policemen. (here) It's embarrassing that we've not made a real date work since spending time together at Lazy Bear last year. EEK! tah.

I know that they're using a plastic base for gum these days, but oil is the historical nemesis for gum. Work some peanut butter into it and it will start to be less sticky.

One of my schnauzers was addicted to aluminum soda cans, probably because of the flavor inside the can. I think I'd choose used bubble gum anyday. Sadie did some major damage eating those cans!

I *heart* those guys! Of course I've never met them, but they've put up with my gushing compliments on some other site...where you can kinda see them nekit and stuff. Hunky monkeys! Woof daddies! And then some!
