According to the Wine Spectator: "Plenty of blackberry and mineral aromas follow through to a medium- to full-bodied palate, with bright fruit and a medium finish. Drink now. 1,300 cases made." (12/07)

According to Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2006 Barbera d-Alba Serra de-Gatti is a fresh, vinous effort bursting with candied red cherries that recall Pinot Noir. This plump, accessible Barbera is a great choice for casual drinking and is a terrific value. Anticipated maturity: 2007-2009. This is a very strong set of new releases from Cascina Val del Prete, one of the leading estates in Roero. Working out of his tiny estate in Priocca, proprietor Mario Roagna fashions wines that are remarkable for the sheer pleasure and drinkability they provide."

I solved obsessing about a hard day at the office and frustrating evening at the theater by putting together a plate of hard goat cheese, wheat crackers, lightly salted cashews, white and red grapes and thick sliced ohsodelicious genoa salami.

Along with a nice thick glass of the "Serra de Gatti"....

yummers!

hell of a good question...LOL!! He's a microbiologist on the faculty of Cornell University in the Food Science Dept. He does extensive traveling giving talks on various subjects. But he also gets calls on current issues. For example, the whole spinach outbreak last year or so. He's heavily involved in the apple industry here in NYS, but I know he visits a number of wineries as well, giving advice on production and whatnot.

you can see from my few comments about David's work (bioinfomatics, the science/math of breaking proteins into molecules and studying them) just makes my brain hurt just typing that teensy bit - he went to a conference earlier this month I couldn't even pronounce correctly. Isn't have a brilliant boyfriend sexy?
