cleaning frenzy....

It felt so nice to come home tonight and clean the entire apartment from floor to ceiling. Scrubbed the shower - cleaned the toilet - emptied, dusted and reassembled bookshelves - vacuumed. Two and a half weeks of theater - and this apartment just sparkles now that I've had time to clean!³ Is it sick that cleaning makes me so happy? it soothes me when I have a busy day - I just know the way to calm down and relax is to clean house. and today - the muffin penthouse was in desperate need.

Then I turned on some acoustic guitar music (a series of CD's called "Sounds of Wood and Steel") - and dove into a re-reading of "Eat.Pray.Love." by Elizabeth Gilbert - which I chose as the book for the book club David and I are members of. So it is my 2nd reading of this amazing book. Her casual conversational,approachable style just makes me have permasmile while I read it. SO I spent the stock of the evening curled up in the reading chair; Miss Kate at my feet - while sipping on Blackberry IZZE.

I love to clean but I also do it when I'm in an angry mood. It gives me solace, it helps me focus.

I will be DJing the street fair on Sunday; as for Saturday, Paul has declared it a "Paul-and-Pete-day-of-doing-nothing" because usually when I come to town, we're so go-go-go, we get no time together that's just us. I won't make any promises, but I will ask him.
