David was so cute today - he'd marked on his kitchen calendar, Tuesday (9.30) as my birthday - and today as "Robert's Birthday (Observed)" - LOL! So tonight we went out to Bistro Evan for a lovely dinner. It is a french bistro in Palo Alto. We decided to go "tapas" style - and eat several of their small/medium plates rather than entrees. (counterclockwise below) We started with a Gruyere/Chantrelle mushroom pancake with a "baby girl" tomato salad and a chilled cucumber soup with yogurt and dill. David preferred the pancakes while I was all about the chilled soup. Our next pairing was a striped bass cerviche (with jalapeno, mint and olive oil) and a interesting salad of fresh peaches, feta, mint and prosciutto - a very interesting and intense set of flavors - we had a bottle of Muscat (David's favorite) with dinner that was grapefruit infused instead of last night's apricot flavor.... most yummy. then came dessert - which was hazelnut cakes on top of brandied pears - and the ultimate!? the fresh raspberry souffle - which was raspberry infused baked egg yolks with a fresh center of raspberries and mint. It was out of this world. I thought David was just going to grab it and run from the restaurant - finding him days later in a culvert somewhere still licking the dish. The service was outstanding - and the evening was wonderful - we stopped by some friends of his who were having a party - (all of which had never seen David in a suit jacket - and were "amazed" much to his embarrassment). It was a truly lovely night....
and Neil? I wore the yellow tie!
Isn't David just adorable? yep!

mmmmm... MOCHA!
Date: 2008-10-05 03:59 pm (UTC)See, I like my chocolate the way I like my women -- dark (haired), creamy (skinned), mysterious and deep.
I like my coffee like my men strong (bodied), blonde, and sweet (disposition).
So for me, as a bisexual, mocha offers me the ultimate liquid sex analogy! I get the best of my men and my women at one time (now if only I could have that in my bed!)
