I listened to Nancy Pelosi tonight on Forum on KQED, San Francisco's NPR affiliate. It was a good interview with phone calls - then the second 1/2 hour with her opponents for her seat in congress. I think she's a powerful politician; with very distinct views. I had never heard her for this long before, it was very, very interesting. If you'd like to listen to her interview - visit http://www.kqed.org/news/election/

Sorry, I don't see how Ms. Pelosi can think that Bush did not violate the Constitution; bsides, impeachment proceedings are meant to begin the process of gathering evidence of misconduct. You don't need to prove the evidence before you begin to gather it.

Go Cindy!

actually thats not exactly what I heard her say. She said that with their razor thin majority they didn't have the political clout or votes to impeach President Bush. She said that if they'd done so upon getting 'power' in the House and Senate that it would have divided the country even further than it already has; and none of their legislative goals (remember their first sixty days efforts on healthcare, taxes, etc.?) would have been achieveable. I think that the partisanship that already existed would have shut down Congress for two years. The republicans only voted to impeach Clinton because they had (in theory) all the votes they needed - but by the end of it - they still couldn't do it.

I thought Clinton was censored in the end - not impeached.

Nope, he was impeached. That was when I found out what impeachment really was. Not quite what I thought.
