Tonight we're having soup! It's the first time I've made soup for Dave - and we went the potato leek direction. I crockpotted of course (but no craisins!). I did this recipe which featured a can of condensed milk. I chose the unsweetened kind, but it was outnumbered two to one by the sweetened variety, but i couldn't see putting sweet milk with sugar in the soup. We'll see how it all turns out. Serving it with a basic caesar salad, fresh french bread (currently baking) and asiago and bacon crumbles to put on the soup as I serve it up. If you have bunches of mashed potato leftovers - this might be a good soup for you to convert leftovers. I'm sure this soup would rock hard with pieces of turkey in it as well. then we stopped and got a slice to go of Prolific Oven's chocolate cake just in case we might want it later. (a slice vs. an entire cake is key here). We're thinking after dinner we might go see "Frost/Nixon" or we might hang out and read by the fire. Either way it's a win-win.

I thought condensed milk was always sweetened, as that's what separated it from evaporated milk.

it turned out to be "less sweet" according to the can. :) it was still sweet and soup was a huge success!
