Christmas Tree Lane, Palo Alto, CA.

We're putting dishes away after dinner and David lights up suddenly and exclaims 'OH my god - Christmas Tree Lane!' suddenly and with no context. Apparently a street in Palo Alto is all done up in lights - and well - apparently David almost committed a mortal sin against the holiday by not taking us there. He got very excitable... putting Miss Kate into a circle dancing dirvish of excitement. LOL!

So - very quickly we had Miss Kate gussied up - and off we went. it was charming - right out of the 50s - with each house done up in obviously kid designed ideas - with the trees along the street done up in matching lights. There was everything from caroling smurfs to a single star put at the top of a prolly 100 foot high tree. It was very adorable - and of course, I loved it. So there is a nice cap to a great day with Dave - strolling hand in hand - with Miss Kate - down Christmas Tree Lane.

Isn't photographing holiday lights at night a bitch challenge? Sigh; well over half of my Longwood Gardens pictures were unusable.

We used to go there most years when living in Palo Alto. It's definitely fun. Glad you got to see it.

Hey, if you're ever down in Monterey during December, they have a street they call "Candycane Lane", where residents go all-out every year, trying to outdo one another. It's cute, in a Monterey County kind of way. Candycane Lane is actually in Pacific Grove, but I'm not sure of the real street names. :-)

I forgot about Christmas Tree Lane! Used to go all the time when I lived there. And I love that it was a Jew who had never received a stocking who thought of it :)
