Tonight I totally flopped in the kitchen. I don't know how I managed it - but I made an abortion of macaroni and cheese. dave tried - but - well - the pasta was overcooked - I overdid the pepper - and well - it was crap. total. undeniable. crap. CRAP_O_RAMA. shitville. garbage. We fed it to the garbage disposal and had salad for dinner with sliced chicken. LOL!
Now we're by the fire reading - I'm reading 'The Time Traveler's Wife' by Audrey Niffenegger. It's beautiful, romantic as hell and just gorgeous. It is an extremely complex novel about a man that involuntarily time travels. Each chapter (some dozens of pages long - some half a page) are at all different years and times in both his and his wife Clair's life. The voice talking is either Clair or Henry. I am in love with it. They are making a movie out of it in 2009 - and I'm worried that it won't even come close to how much I love this novel. (although casting Eric Bana and Racheal McAdams makes me hopeful - because they are just as physically beautiful as I'd imagine Clair and Henry to be....) I am such a sucker for hard core romances like this. (big romantic 50's schoolgirl sigh) It is at a very intense part and I must get back to it. I have a lovely glass of port - and kateydog is snuggled in a circle at my feet up on the couch - and Dave is in his chair doing math "Wavelet and Wavelet Transform Theory". So adorable and so insanely smart. I'm very lucky.
The grandfather clock is chiming in the foyer - and this is just completely perfect.

Date: 2009-01-12 04:17 am (UTC)I have this gorgeous sloppy joe recipe that Ross loves. Problem is it's in English measurements, and I can only buy metric here in NZ, so I have to convert.
And let's just say that my math skills are not in a league with Dave's and leave it at that *lol*
So I'm trying a converted version once again, in the slow cooker, as we don't know what time Ross will be home tonight. Last time I did this, it was as dry as dry, so we shall see.
Better luck on the next dinner you cook for both of you!
("Wavelet and Wavelet Transform Theory." To me, that would be about hair care products. By crikey, your man is clever, isn't he?)

But he's my guy :) thats for sure!
