This week's episode was cool and stuff - and a storyline that had to finish - I get it. But.... Ellen returns next week - and that is when things get truly interesting. Ellen knows the truth - and the truth is about to break EVERYTHING out. This show is the best show I've ever watched on television. It's unbelievably brilliant!

And that last moment of the episode. Wow.

Date: 2009-02-07 07:09 pm (UTC)I AM SO stoked about a) the return of ellen - and b) answers about what galen saw - (which my guess is the beginning of the end of the ship itself).
and unanswered questions about Starbuck (why Leoben hasn't spilled the beans for instance about who/what/how she is) - - - but with Ellen's return - we're armed for when Cabal and his friends show up. Because Ellen has base ships and old toasters --- it'll make for some very interesting storytelling.

Date: 2009-02-07 07:23 pm (UTC)Then, he loses his leg because of one of the Final Five, and he allies himself with Zarek, and even when Zarek executes the governing body (whatever they're called - Council of Twelve or something), he knows it's wrong, and yet he continues with him, until it's too late.
As for Ellen - I'm a bit confused about her being a Final Five AND being reborn in the slimepod (if we are to believe what we see in the trailer). I thought Final Fives were unique in that there was only one of each, and I didn't think they were able to be reborn. Plus - I thought rebirthin' was no longer possible when the Resurrection Hub was destroyed.
OK - I'll stop there - too much geekitude!

Date: 2009-02-07 07:27 pm (UTC)I think it will turn out that Ellen discovered the ability to resurrect - and nuked the planet to keep the other models from figuring it out. and thats why they don't discuss the "first five models". So much is going to get told in the next four-five weeks. YAY!

Date: 2009-02-08 03:36 pm (UTC)Remember the dilemma on New Caprica where some good guys were suicide bombing and others thought those acts were unconscionable? This is a similar, IMHO.
Gaeta is following the democratically elected civilian leader, Zarek. (Zarek is VP, and the President is not governing.) The Admiral is clearly acting as a military dictator and ignoring the wishes of the civilian government.
Gaeta feels caught between his oath to the government and his oath to follow military orders.
When Zarek shows his true intentions by murdering the Quorum, Gaeta flips. He could have forced a blood bath when the "good guys" were about to take back C&C, but didn't.
Gaeta rebelled against the Admiral, but was he a traitor to the Colonial Government or the Colonies?
[And, this is why BSG is spectacular TV!]
