Zazie on a Friday
Feb. 2nd, 2008 07:29 am
We shared a Mediterranean vegetable plate for appetizer, a half of Haven Syrah (Napa), and he had lamb while I had a big porkchop. The porkchop was served over a bed of red cabbage and bacon with a bosc pear and cider reduction. The service was perfect - with a lovely englishman - whom we teased and talked to all evening. He had brand new glasses or "spectacles" and was very proudly modeling them around the restaurant. Apparently they serve an AMAZING brunch at Zazie - but if you are not there at 9am when they open, the waiter advised, it can be a 40 minute wait. I'll have to try that sometime.
My friend and I came back here and walked Miss Kate then he headed home and I was off to bed. Miss Kate - who is usually a sprawled out bed hog of a bedmate. curled up in a circle and slept right against my chest all night. never moved. I usually toss and turn a lot - but with her right up against me - I ended up sleeping in the same position all night. I'm glad my right arm works from the lack of blood supply. (giggle) But I've woken up with a sore shoulder from not moving much. We just got back in from our morning walkies - and gathering of the steaming mocha - and we're reading the paper and the internet. its too early (730am) to put music on really - so we'll just have a quiet morning. :)
