SO - tonight- I presented four movies to David:

  1. Mr and Mrs Jones

  2. Sex in the City the Movie

  3. Memoirs of a Geisha

  4. Steel Magnolias

I was proud of my choices - wide variety and interesting - and I'd have been happy watching any of them.

Muffin: So which movie is it Doc?
David: While you were out I looked all four of them up on the internet and Steel Magnolias has the highest rating on Rotten Tomantoes - and since I haven't seen any of these movies - I'll go with their reccomendation.
Muffin: jaw drops - hits floor. Is there such a thing as a gay man that has NOT seen Steel Magnolias? LOL! I guess I have proof!

SO after a brisk walk of Miss Kate 'round City Hall - Dr. Dave, Kateydog, and I are snuggling in for a night of Weazy and the girls in the south planning a wedding. Yay!

Darn - trying this response again...

Apparently I did something wrong on my response; it didn't post. Here it is:

Bette Davis at her best - "Now Voyager"... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Now,_Voyager - including the #46 best quote in any movie: "Oh, Jerry, don't let's ask for the moon... we have the stars". (The other top 100 quotes: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AFI%27s_100_Years..._100_Movie_Quotes)

:-)

Thanks for the link. Having read the Now Voyager synopsis, it sounds like an interesting movie. My exposure to Bette Midler has previously been limited to the first ten? five? minutes of Mommie Dearest. It's a movie that hits far too many nerves. :)

Sorry, hun...."Mommie Dearest" was about Joan Crawford, not Bette Davis.

You want to see those two women go at it hammer and tongs, check out "Whatever Happened to Baby Jane".

Blanche: You wouldn't treat me like this if I weren't in this chair!
Jane: (Regarding Blanche as if she had just said something unbelievably stooopid) But ya ARE in the chair, Blanche; but ya ARE!

Heh. We were talking about taking away GAY cards at the start of all this.

I've done a bang up job, it seems, of connecting BD and JC thanks to the path you've just described. Perhaps I'll have to give "Now Voyagers" a try.

Don't worry...I lose Gay points for not ever having seen "Now Voyager".
