Salami Crisps with Thyme Sour Cream and Fresh Ahi Tuna

Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F.

Line 2 heavy large baking sheets with aluminum foil. Arrange the sliced salami in a single layer over the baking sheets. Bake until the salami slices are amber brown, watching closely to ensure they brown evenly, about 15 minutes. Transfer the salami crisps to a paper towel-lined baking sheet to absorb the excess oil. Set aside to cool. Mix fresh chopped Thyme into sour cream - don't superslice - leave it to the point that the thyme is left in big lovely chunks. Spoon a dollop of the thyme sour cream on top of each salami crisp. Add a thin slice of high grade Ahi Tuna and serve. (Salami Crisps can be made overnight and kept in a tupper - but not for more than 24 hours or so)

Super easy and powerfully flavorgasmic!

We took them to David's condo complex New year's celebration and they were a huge hit. The luxuriousness of fresh Ahi with the salami crisps is delicious! The salami turns out the consistency and shape of a cracker. it's lovely!

That is very interesting. I am having a hard time wrapping my head around the combination, I can't quite picture what it tastes like. But it is good to know the salami crisp trick for a whole lot of reasons. Not many Atkins dieters around anymore, but I do like to include a no-carb appetizer at parties.

its a salty smooth taste. It really was a hit at the party. the actual recipe is simply the crisp with sour cream on it - and that seamed well - - BORING and the ahi - creates a nice smooth bite or two.

OMEGA I love ahi tunaaaa. I think I may just have to get sushi for dinners tonight! How much did that set you back for all the tuna?

I only bought 2/3 of a pound - it was $12.75 I think.

Yeah but that still looks like quite a bit of meat :) Mmm tuna. Ya know, if the mercury wouldn't kill me, I'd eat the stuff every single day. Oh the mercury and the cost. More the mercury though...I think.
